Regional Data Hosting
Last modified: September 15th, 2026.
Aircall is extending regional storage across its conversational data — call recordings, voicemails, transcriptions, and AI-generated insights — so customers based in NA, EMEA, and APAC can keep this data closer to home. Some data types are already stored regionally today; others are rolling out progressively as we expand this coverage.
Accounts are automatically assigned a storage region based on the phone number/country code used when the account is created. This applies to data types once they are covered by regional storage; it does not, on its own, guarantee where every category of your account’s data is stored today.
This article describes exactly what is, and isn’t, covered by regional storage today across all three regions, so you can assess whether it meets your organization’s requirements.

What’s stored in your region
The following data is physically stored in the data center matching your account’s assigned region:
Call recordings
Voicemails
AI Voice Agent call recordings (where AI Voice Agent is in use)
Transcriptions
AI Assist insights (summaries, sentiment analysis, key topics, action items, call scoring)
Live today, all regions: new Aircall accounts are automatically assigned to a US, EU, or Australia hosting location — based on the phone number/country code used at signup — for the data types above. All three storage regions run on the same dedicated infrastructure model.
Existing customers’ coverage of the data types above depends on your account’s history. Call recordings and voicemails have been assigned regionally since 3 May 2022 (EU). Transcriptions and AI Assist insights are being migrated progressively for existing accounts. Contact your Account Manager to confirm your account’s current status.
By the end of the year, we’re extending regional storage to additional data, including AI Assist Pro and AI Virtual Agent artifacts, with messaging support following in the months after.
What is not included
The following are not covered by regional storage today, and in most cases are stored in the US regardless of your account’s region. Some of these are part of our regional storage roadmap and are being actively extended, this reflects current availability as of September 2026 and will be updated as coverage expands.
Account and user data: your company and user profile information and admin settings;
Call and messaging metadata: phone numbers, contacts, and call details such as call time and duration;
Billing and subscription data: name, email, and payment details required to provision and support your account;
Analytics and usage data: call analytics, dashboards, and product usage/feature logs;
Support interactions: we provide global support across time zones, so support tickets and related data may be handled outside your region;
AI Assist Pro, AIVA, and Messaging (SMS/WhatsApp): not yet covered by regional storage. We are actively working to extend regional storage to these data types.
Good to know
Storage location is where your data lives at rest. As a global company, some of our support and product functions work across regions rather than being tied to one location — so there may be moments where regionally-stored data is briefly accessed or processed outside your region as part of delivering our service. When that happens, we have security, contractual, and organisational safeguards in place to keep the transfer secure.
If your account predates full regional storage coverage
If you joined Aircall after 3 May 2022, your recordings storage region was set automatically based on the phone number/country code used at signup. As we roll out regional storage to new conversational data types, they will automatically fall under that same region and we are actively working to migrate your existing historical data into your assigned region too.
If you joined before 3 May 2022 (prior to the recordings regional storage rollout) your call recordings and voicemails are stored on US infrastructure by default, unless you explicitly arranged otherwise with your Aircall representative. We are actively rolling out a program to bring eligible existing accounts into their local region over time. This migration happens automatically on our end, there’s nothing you need to do, and it will not disrupt your service.
Please note that once set, an account’s storage region cannot be changed.
Contact your Account Manager or Aircall Support to ask about your account’s current status.
Where our regional data centers are located
Region | Data center location |
United States (default) | AWS us-west-2 — Oregon, USA |
European Union | AWS eu-central-1 — Frankfurt, Germany |
Australia | AWS ap-southeast-2 — Sydney, Australia |
How to check your account’s storage region
There is currently no self-service view of your account’s storage region in the Dashboard. To confirm which region your conversational data will be stored in, contact your Account Manager or Aircall Support.
Frequently asked questions
Does this mean all of my data stays in my region?
No, for any region. Regional storage today covers call recordings, voicemails, transcriptions, and AI Assist insights, but not everything — account/billing data, analytics, and support data continue to be stored in the US regardless of your region. See “What is not included” above.
Separately, storage and processing are different things: even where a data type is stored in your region, it may still be processed elsewhere as part of delivering our service.
Can I choose or change my account’s storage region?
New accounts are assigned automatically based on the phone number/country code used at signup. Once set, an account’s storage region cannot be changed. If you’d like to discuss your account’s region, contact your Account Manager.
Which sub-processors are involved, and where are they located?
See our Subprocessor list for the full, current list of vendors Aircall uses to deliver the service, including their location.
